I think I have bacterial vaginosis. I've never had it before, but a apparently it's quite common. I've noticed for a couple of days an odour coming from, well down there. I just thought it was pregnancy nose. Since everything smells disgusting to me. Anyway I mentioned it to dh and he was like I ll check. Anyway he agrees there's a fishy smell. I feel a bit itchy as well and uncomfortable. So now tomorrow I'm going to have to go to my doctor for a swab. I hate things like this. Also when I Google it everything I read says there's a risk of premature delivery. So now I'm freaked out too.

Did you have to get tested for it or did you just tell your doctor the symptoms and they just gave you something?

Ive had it also it is quite embarrassing I agree! But they will give you an antibiotic and it will clear up and the smell will be gone within a week..its just from your ph level being off..things like sperm or certain body washes can make the ph level.change..they'll just swab you and they may not even send it out they have the strips they can tell you right there! Gl hope it clears up for you soon

She swabbed me this morning and then gave me some cream that you put up there. It's the smell that's the embarrassing thing! No matter how much you wash it doesn't get much better. She also told me not to wash more than once a day and only with plain water.

Ya that smell sucks I hated it when I had it..but it wont go away without the medicine! Just be careful what you wash with down there either use just plain water from now on or use dove bar soap..ive had it more than once before so I know the tricks lol doesnt mean your dirty or anything obviously its just all about the ph levrl down there and if your dh "goes" in there tell him not to anymore lol i havent had it in like 2 years thank you God ..glad you got meds for it !

I have had this as well and when I had it the pills to take were horrible. They had an awful taste to them and no matter how hard you try NOT to taste them it does not work. Overall, the strangest of things have happened in pregnancy and these doctors are used to seeing or smelling things. Imagine that you may be embarrassed but think of how many they look at per day and how many lack any care about their body when going to a clinic. I am sure they have seen far worse and not too much to worry about. It is a common thing and it sucks bad. I hope you get some relief quickly.

And on a completely different note just to make you smile is...we are pregnant it does not smell great anyways. I know I scrub and scrub (not using soap of course cause I know what that can do) and I still have this distinct scent to my lower region from pregnancy. Given not the same smell but all the same the doctors are used to many things.
