cooking with wine???

I'm not what you call a cook, but I'm trying now. I've been reading a lot of recipes that ask for wine in it... Are they talking about cooking wine or regular wine??? I'm confussed....

Usually they will tell you if it's cooking wine, like cooking sherry instead of regular sherry.

Though I don't believe it really matters. Sherry cooking wine is a very nice extra in dishes (though I've only used it in an oriental soup).

I find it funny I see this just as I'm thinking of this dish called chicken francese which requires a dry, white wine. It's so delicious and takes less than 15 minutes to make.
