Is there a difference between m/c cramps and the kinds that are normal for early pregnancy?

My miscarriage was silent and I had no cramps. But I've had cramps this time and they've been freaking me out.

I had an ultrasound 2 days before my miscarriage started and it showed the baby was a week behind where I should be and too early to see a HB. I KNEW my dates though and that something was wrong. The morning of my m/c I woke up with a terrible back ache, I thought I must have slept wrong. It continued through the day and was really bad even after using a heat pad. That night the bleeding started. It was back labor essentially that I had all day, just didn't realize it. Once the abdominal cramps started they were a bit more intense than normal pregnancy/period cramps.

Hope everything is ok Kathleen.

I've had significant cramping over the past week or so and was very concerned. Today the cramping has not been near as severe today. I've noticed the more water I drink the less intense the cramping.

everyone and every pregnancy was different...mine was about as bad as period cramps....but I also had cramps with Helena and carried to term a healthy baby (with spotting and passing clots with her as well)

Its different for every woman. My M/C cramps are like 1000 times worse than period cramps.

Me too. Actually I had the MOST cramps when things were fine, and the least cramps as things went worse and worse.
So i would put cramps in the good section. Things are changing, adjusting, growing. That's good!

Ditto all of this with me. Both of my miscarriages were cramp free. But, I had period-like cramps with 2 of my big kids and some with this one as well.

Thanks guys. I'm sure it's just everything growing and adjusting but it sure is scary.
