I would like to have a glass every now and again but I'm not sure it's still considered safe and I know red was but what kind of red? Dry? Sweet? Does it matter? I heard something about beer being ok but I'm good on that I think. What are you ladies oopinions?

I drink half a glass of dry red (homemade organic sulfite-free!) once a week. I don't think small amounts occasionally there is a problem with.

I have a hard time with the heartburn though!

I've had small amounts of margaritas periodically. I think one glass of wine with food every once in a while should be fine. But I'm no doctor so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I have had a few sips since I've been pregnant. We had just found a really great wine right before I found out I was pregnant. DH has already bought me a bottle for the after baby comes!

With my first, I had no wine until I was 41 weeks pregnant - and then I had only 1/2 a glass.
This time, I've had a few sips lately - as in DH pours a glass and I steal a sip of it at dinner while he gives me a horrible look -- the "YOU'RE KILLING OUR CHILD" kind of look.
In my 3rd tri, I think I will have a half-glass of wine here and there - very occasionally, like once a week tops. I really don't think it's harmful.
[my OBGYN said NO ALCOHOL tho]

I might ask the doctor Monday if I can remember lol I've had a few sips of new beers my husbands tried really early before we knew the iui worked, but nothing since and dh had one of my favorite drinks this past weekend and I've wanted a little something since, awful I know.. anyway, thank you ladies!

I'm hosting a Halloween party this year so I've been taste testing jello shots here and there trying to come up with a new recipie but otherwise, I stay clear of the booze.

I'm just not ever much of a drinker. Sometimes I will have a fruity girly drink. Not while I'm pregnant.
Maybe if I missed it terribly, I'd be interested (bcs god knows I haven't given up soft serve, and have even had two very naughty cold cut sandwiches lol), but I just don't feel deprived.

My midwife said a small glass of any wine a couple of times a week is fine. Right now I'm having a small glass of pink wine and a doughnut!

I have had sips of DH's beers and a few sips of wine since becoming pregnant. I don't feel comfortable having my own (even small) glass. I will probably have some small amounts of red wine once I get closer to the end. All I want is an ice cold Stella Artois (beer for those who don't know)!

My dr says no alcohol. I had a small sip at about 37 weeks with DS but it made me paranoid so I didn't go further than just a small sip. Besides, alcohol makes blood pressure rise and we already know mine can't get too high.

I think I might just plan a romantic dinner for dh and I and maybe get a nice sweet one, we have an amazing wine shop in town and I think dh needs a little spoiling too. I had a glass with ds like two days before I was induced and the weather is so nice it would be really great to sit outside after ds goes to bed and relax

I had half a glass the other week. The guidelines in Australia don't even ban it completely. I'm of the opinion that once in awhile is OK.

I take sips of DH's beer, but that's about it. I figure I can do without for five more months

I just read a study that stated one alcoholic beverage per week throughout pregnancy can present itself in symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome that are developmental, not physical.

I will dig it up (It was in a development textbook under teratogen) and post if anyone is interested.

Honestly I'm actually surprised so many people here have had a drink or more while pregnant. I'm still a firm believer in not drinking at all while pregnant. Now I'm not a drinker anyways so it's not like I miss it but still, not a risk I want to take.

I know some people do and there has been some research that says it might be okay in moderation but I didn't know so many people did. Every health or baby organization says NO.
