Hey ladies, I hope you're all doing well.
I had my surgery yesterday. The surgery itself wasn't bad at all. I'd say the worst part was getting the IV in!
So they made a tiny incision in my stomach and disconnected 12 arteries/veins on the placenta. They also removed 1.5 liters of fluid from the larger baby's sac, so my stomach doesn't feel all stretched out anymore.
They said the smaller baby doesn't have a large share of the placenta- so it's going to be a waiting game to see if it's enough or not. If not she won't make it.

I had an ultrasound this morning. The smalłer baby's bladder is visible again, which is good. She has a little more fluid, which is good. They both still have good heartbeats. So for today we got good news. We have a follow up appt on Thursday, so they should know a lot more by then since that gives the babies more time to show progress (hopefully).

It's even a good sign that the smaller baby is still with us, because there was a possibility of her not making it if they had to disconnect too many of her connections.

We aren't out of the woods yet, but we're being cautiously optimistic.

Yay for good news, mama. Glad both babies and mama made it out of the surgery OK. You sounds like you are holding up really well and it also sounds like things are going ideally. I hope they stay that way and the one baby at the most risk grows big and strong! XOXO

Thank you everybody. It's nice to be out of the hospital and back at the hotel. I just took a shower, so that was nice lol.
Physically I'm feeling fine. I've still been having some mild contractions, so we're just timing them to make sure they're not too frequent. If they are I'll need to let the hospital know, so they might need to monitor them and give me more medication. But so far so good.
DH has been amazing with me since I'm on strict bed rest. He helps me in and out of bed and has really been taking great care of me.
Emotionally I'm doing ok. I'm tired. I'm sick of playing this "waiting game", I really wish I didn't have to wait until Thursday to find out more. But we are being realistically optimistic just in case. I don't see the point in being all negative and glum, because that certainly won't help anything. I'm just making sure I'm doing everything I can by resting, eating and drinking properly to help these girls out.
And I've been talking to the girls to remind them how much we love them. We've also officially picked out names: the bigger baby is Ashley Samantha, and the smaller baby is Melody Paige.

Thank you ladies for your continued support and prayers, it really means a lot
