Just wondering if anybody has ever had a shot of lidocaine during labor to help with the pain of pushing the baby out. I saw my dr this morning and was talking to him about natural childbirth and he said that if I needed he could give me a shot of lidocaine somewhere in the vaginal area and it would help with the pain of pushing. I had never heard of this, just wondering if anybody else has heard of it.
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
All that does is numb the skin there a little bit. Doesn't ease the contractions. They gave me that shot with my first just before doing an episiotomy and I felt everything, including myself ripping to shreds.
