I'm just wondering how many of us have actually failed the one hour test. Seems like there is almost more of us that have failed versus those that haven't. I thought I would do a poll.

Edit: i also noticed way more then normal failing i wonder if the test has changed somehow like the drink formula is differnt or something i think my DDC last year had maybe 4 ppl who failed the 1 hour then only like 1 or 2 failed the 3 that i remember

^I was thinking the same, I don't really remember hearing many people fail the 1 hour in our Nov DDC.

I failed the 1 hour this time and passed the 3 hour.

My dr has me fast before the test. nothing to eat or drink after midnight but water. I failed with my first pregnancy and then passed with my second and then failed with this one.

I failed. I had to fast for 8-10hrs before taking the test. I have to fast for 10hrs before taking the 3hr tomorrow morning.

Newgurl, I think you brought up something interesting.

I think it's also interesting that I've read you shouldn't have to fast for the 1hr, you can have a small snack beforehand. I didn't fast with DS, nothing was ever mentioned about it. But now, years and years later, more drs are asking their patients to fast and it seems the failure rate is going up. Not down. I also read the 1hr isn't very accurate anyway, it's just a quicker/less expensive test for them to do.

I was told not to fast for the 1 hour. They told be to have a snack (yogurt or toast) 3 hours before the test and nothing what to eat after that. I had fat free yogurt both this time and last year with my first. I got a 112 last time and a 156 this time.

I just barely passed my first early 1 hour, and then I haven't heard back about this one. But they may have called when the phone is dead. I'm going to ask about it at my appointment tomorrow if we can make it in.... The dirt road we live on has been too iced up for him to get to work in the morning. His mom says that the actually street beyond the dirt road is ok but well he car is the only one that can get there and she doesn't get home till his shift would be half over or almost over. Annnd, I'm rambling aren't I? I should head to bed.

I failed. 2 out of 3 (close to 70%) of women that fail go on to pass the three hour. I noticed a lot of "failing" as well!!

I am not taking the diagnostic test. I have chosen to monitor my blood glucose and REALLY cut the carbs instead. My blood levels are in the normal range (although sometimes high normal) so I am honestly not concerned at all.

Same here Susan. I was so hungry after the one hour test. I can't even imagine how hungry I will be after the 3 hour test. I remember after the test with Jackson, DH took me out for a big lunch.

I'm shocked. It looks like equal numbers of us failed versus passed.

Out of the 9 is Jibby the only one who didn't pass the 3 hour test?

I think I may have accidentally clicked pass when I meant to click fail. I was doing it on my phone and it went all wonky :/

Melissa - I failed the 3-hour test, too.

That was at 20 weeks. I'm 30 weeks now and things are going super well. My doctor even said that I should teach a class to gestational diabetics on how to manage it. I laughed and said that I'm really not doing much differently.

I do occasionally have a high number, but I'm usually good at knowing what caused it and then not eating that food -- or too much of that food -- again.

I am on a very small dose of glyburide every night to control my fasting numbers. They were consistantly 3-4 points over my limit. I tried everything I could to change how they were, but nothing worked. The pills help tremendously!

I even ate a complete Thanksgiving dinner and it didn't spike my numbers!!!
I eat an apple, though, and I'm super high...

I failed the 1 hour and passed the 2 hour. I did fast before as that's what I was told to do.
