Hm. I was in such a haze, I firget exactly when. Maybe around 3 weeks? It was EBM. I've just had some really frustrating moments with BFing this time around. She's only had 3 or 4 bottles total, and either I or hubbie fed them to her. Unless she starts fussing even more on the breast, likely won't give her another unless necessary.
Gabby got a bottle at 2 weeks when I had to go to class. It was a first years breastflow bottle. My mom gives the bottles. She only got them when I went to class, and that was twice a week, but I'm out of school now. Since school ended, she had bottles on two occasions. Once my mom fed her again, and my grandmother fed her Friday night when I went to a party. All of her bottles have been breastmilk except on Friday, she ran out of her milk and had to use one bottle of formula. It was her first formula since leaving the hospital.
Luci will be 4 weeks tomorrow. I just got my pump yesterday. I'm going to try to pump enough tomorrow for DH to give her a bottle. I have a couple of First Years Breastflow bottles (that came with my pump) and the Playtex Drop-ins, which I used successfully with my first two babies. We'll see how it goes!
I pumped about an ounce and half today, just trying out the pump, but I gave it to Jack. Well, he took about two sips and was done. It's only been about 8 months since he's nursed and he doesn't like it anymore! I was kinda surprised.
Thomas was arou d 2 weeks old I think. Hubby gave him an ounce because that was what I had left after storing other milk and I didn't want to waste it, but hadn't planned on pumping much more. Then last week I gave him 2 ounces. Both times he acted like he was drowning and had a hard time. Then yesterday our oldest gave him 2 oz, we used a different nipple, and he did awesome with that bottle. Not sure if it was practice or the nipple that made the difference. We'll try to do 1-2 bottles a week. Our daughter wasn't great about taking one, so we want to practice more with Thomas.
