So, for the private sub forum I was thinking of a 300 post minimum in this forum to get pass word, does that sound ok to everyone?

That's a lot of posts IMO. I think 50 would be plenty. I know personally, I don't post nearly as much in this DDC as I did in my last because I am chasing after an 18 month old and am much busier. I read everything but don't always post.

300 posts in general or 300 posts in this DDC? I don't think 300 in general is to much but 300 for this DDC might be.

This DDC & to be honest, Ive never been part of a group where you can access the private forum with less than 250 posts, but whatever the majority wants is A-ok with me. I think the post requirement is to get active posters in the private forum and kinda weed out those that just would like to lurk. It has been my past experience that people share on the private forum what they may not want the general public to be able to see.

Every board Ive been a part of also has post requirements to remain a part of the private group. So give some thought to how many posts would be fair.

My only concern is this board isn't extremely active. It will take a lot to reach 300 posts. Maybe we can cut it in half?

I just joined the boards when I found out I was pregnant and found them, so it'll take me awhile to get there, but I'll keep posting! I do understand the want for privacy- I'm a part of another message board (not pregnancy related), so I get it.

I'm new to the site and even though I read most all of the posts I am only at about 20 posts. There's no way I would get to 300 or even 250 posts. 50 or 100 seems reasonable to me.

I have been on the JM boards for about a month, and I only have 75 posts total. I joined as soon as I confirmed my pregnancy, and I am on here pretty much everyday. Not sure how many of my posts are in this forum. Maybe 50?

Anyway, the chances of me reaching 300 posts here before the end of my pregnancy are pretty slim. So maybe 300 posts sounds like a pretty steep number? But I am new to the online forum world, so I am not sure what is normal.

I was thinking starting out at 150 sounds reasonable. Maybe we could start with something like that and change it to a higher post limit for our ddc later if we feel like we need to change things?

I also agree that 300 post just for this forum seems a little steep. Maybe if we could split it in half at 150 in order to have access to the private forum.

I've been here since I found out I was pregnant over 10 weeks ago and only have 70 posts! So I don't think I'll be making it into this private forum, lol

This board isn't active enough for 300 posts in just this ddc. I say 100

If you'all are compfortable with 100 posts, that's cool with me. Would you like a minimum monthly posting to remain active or no?

What would be a good number? Keep in mind posting requirements & posting minimums are to try to keep your info private, it is also to ensure members stay active & just don't read about our lives and leave (it's been known to happen) I know everyone is busy & sometimes we simply don't have time to do much more than read.

I think I would feel more comfortable with a higher post limit, like Nicole. At least 200/250. But it seems i'm in the minority here and I appreciate that we have to go with the majority. I too have just had negative experiences int he past with people lurking.

With regards to activity I think thats really important, and that people's access is removed if they dont participate regularly. Did you have any numbers in mind Nicole? Maybe a certain amount in the last 30 days??

How do we know how many posts we have? I changed screen names in the middle, so I don't know. I guess it doesn't really matter if I can't get in the private forums.
