I seem to be recalling that earlier on in the due date club a lot of us did the baking soda test, I can't find the post or I'd bump it. But so far For those that officially know the gender, was it right or wrong?

From what I've read, you pour your urine over the baking soda. I'm not sure it matters too much either way though

I'm afraid to try this. I am sooooo nervous for a girl.
I think I'm having a boy from how I feel and look but never sure.

What will I do with a girl? I'm the only girl in our families.

C-Rob - that's correct. If its a boy It's much like the top of a beer/shaken soda when you open it. Girl doesn't do anything.

Sydney - lol I have no idea, I'm kind of scared to have a girl myself but I'm sure it will for the most part come naturally!

Lurking and popping in from April. I did the test yesterday, but in the evening. Would that ruin the results, since I didn't use FMU? It made about 8 bubbles, then nothing. I'm 11 weeks today.

No it doesn't really matter what time you take it. I'd say if there just a few bubbles it's girl.

Well I accidentally used corn starch which apparently means I am having a big white clump...ha. Guess I need to buy some baking soda next time I go to the store.

Mine really fizzed when i tried this at 8 or 9 weeks. And...his nub clearly suggested he is a boy at 13 weeks. We'll see!

i may need to try this. Fingers crossed for a girl, but I will update as soon as I do this...or need to pee haha. So I just did it. I put the bakin soda in a cup, then peed and nothing no bubbles..looks like a girl now to wait until the ultrasound in 2 and a half weeks!!

So I just tried it and there was zero fizz. But the u/s at 13 weeks is already showing signs of a boy so unless my baby girl has a good sized nub I'd say the test is wrong :/
