My Dr just finally got the results.. Says I have
1:199 chance of a genetic
disorder with the baby... Had the DNA blood draw to check, hoping
results are back by the end of the week.. The Dr said for my age my results should
have been 1:246 so it is an elevated risk, cause it came back higher.. Lil worried..

Update....
DR called and left a message, said that results came back fine, the baby was OK..
no trisomies of any kind and a very low chance of any other abnormalities..
I feel so much less stress now, thank you for your encouraging words through this tough time..
You don't know how much it helped....

I'm sure everything is fine. How old are you? Based on my age my calculated risk was 1:180. Specialist said if you are under 35 risk is 1:250.

I know how scary things can be when you don't know what to expect! When we had our last appointment they said there was a doliocephalic appearance of the baby's skull and that I have a low-lying placenta that might grow down and become placenta previa. All I heard was "You're going to have a mutant baby that needs to be delivered by c/s!"

But it is possible to relax, breathe, and go forward if not in confidence, at least with a semblance of calm.

For me it's a two-fold thing. First I imagine the worst likely scenario. In my case it would be that the narrow head means the baby's skull plates are fused together. And that the low placenta means I'll have to have a c/s. Then I follow that path to the end so I can think of the repercussions. That means both the baby and I will have to have surgery. That means that any future caesarean surgery for me will be more risky. That means the baby will suffer for a time and have a scar under her hairline. It means a possibly large medical bill. But, in the end, that is likely all it means. It isn't likely that either of us will die in the process or that there will be any permanent harm done or that my husband will leave us because I gave him a deformed child.

The second part of my process is trusting in God. I don't know if you have put your faith in God or not. But He essential for me to have real peace in hard times. Because what if the unlikely does happen? What if I or the baby were not only to require surgery, but to die on the operating table? Or what if the baby is severely brain damaged and needs intense care for her whole life? What if everyone who has said they love me abandons us? (I know, this is getting totally out there, but this is how pregnant brains work, right?)

Even if all that were to happen, and life were to get really really hard. I trust that God is working all things for good. Even the bad things, He uses for good. He takes the most broken, wretched, scary, miserable situations and turns them into glory and uses them to bring people out of despair and into light. It might take a while. And I might or might not see it in my lifetime. But I still trust Him.

Anyway, I'm not trying to force any sort of belief on anyone. I know how well that doesn't work. I'm just sharing the reason for the hope and peace that I have.

We had the same issue. Everything with the NT scan was perfect, but I have elevated hcg, and that put us 1:157 risk for twin B, and I think 1:390 (or something along those lines) for twin A. We were terrified and did the Harmony test, and it came back with odds for each baby being 1:10,000. We also had our anatomy scan a few weeks ago and everything looked perfect. I know you can't help but worry, but I think our age plays a big part in the increased risk. You have around a 99.5% chance things are fine.

thank you .... I am fine one way or another with what
ever the results will be, just want to know what we have
to do to prepare for baby, be it all the normal stuff, or
adding on for a special needs child., I am finding I am not as patient
with waiting for results as I use to be.. lol.. I am bouncing off the walls...
