So, it's been four weeks since our ultrasound that showed BB had some dilated kidneys. They are still the same, with his left one just a bit bigger than the right one. But, his bladder is full and functioning, so that means his kidneys are processing just fine. We will have another ultrasound in four weeks to see if things have gotten better. Doc said it is a developmental issue, where one part just hasn't matured yet. She has high hopes that this will correct itself. I'm sure hoping so, starting to get a little worried.
On another note, baby was sleeping when we got there. She had to prod him a bit to get the good shots of his kidneys. She had just finished saying. "I don't think this baby likes me," when he stuck out his tongue at her! So funny!
Hoping for it to correct itself! At my last u/s the doc said that my baby girls right kidney was dilated. I go back on the 22nd to have it rechecked. The doctor said that sometimes the baby just hasn't peed in a while (they are still learning how to pee at this stage) and that sometimes that can cause some urine backup, and therefore the kidney dilation. Fingers crossed that's all it is!!
Welcome baby Lily!! 3/9/14 <3
