So I totally got my butt kicked last night by the stairs to our deck!! Lol I had helped DH stack wood all day and decided last night to have a fire, so I went out to get wood... And out went my feet and down I slid about 5 stairs. I have a nice bruise on my left butt cheek! Lol at least I didn't fall on my tummy but I'll definitely be more cautious!!! I've been sore allllll day today!!!

Hope y'all had a better weekend than I did!! Lol

Supposedly they don't use salt here as it'll only melt to a certain degree. I did buy some "special" melting pellets, I just need to get out and do it! Lol but now I'm scared if those stairs and it's -6 at 10am!

And the tushes is feeling better even if the bruise looks nasty! lol my husband keeps saying "I bet you won't do that again!" Really?!?! First off, it's not like I was running or skipping down the stairs and secondly, I didn't decide it'd be fun to slide down the stairs to begin with!! Lol

We use the salt, mostly cuz that's what they have on base. Just be cautionous if you use it because it attracks the wildlife, but we haven't had a problem with it. Nothing really works on the ice too terribly well up here, mostly because of the rain, snow, it starting to melt then freezing again :/

Also the px and walmart (I'm sure other places have them too) have these ice tracs (I believe that's what they are called) they are rubber and have little plastic spikes - you put them on your shoes and while you may still slip a little bit, chances are you won't fall. Usually run about $10-15 a pair but they are amazing!

Yeah, I need to get a pair of those!! I don't know what they're called either but a friend has a pair and she said she got them at the PX... Especially with being pregnant and I know the worst is yet to come, I need a pair!

No fun! sorry you fell. Glad you're feeling better though. Be careful! I'm surprised I haven't really fallen yet while pregnant. I'm always bumping into things/dropping things/giving myself minor injuries. FX'd we both stay on our feet.
