I love 'em, but I really only know how to make them one way, LOL. Do you make your own smoothies? What are your favorite recipes?

I saw a commercial for those Dannon smoothies this morning and i was thinking how yummy they looked and I'd love to have one. As far as making them, that's the only way I've ever made my own! lol.

They are SUPER easy to make!! I buy big bags of frozen fruit from Sam's Club to have on hand in my freezer (strawberries, blueberries, mixed fruit, whatever you like).

Here's my go to recipe:

1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 Banana
1 cup Milk
1/2 cup orange juice (or whatever juice you prefer)
2 T Ground Flax Seed

You can add more or less liquid depending on if you like it thinner or thicker. After it is mixed, I add in 2-3 cups of fresh spinach leaves. You seriously cannot taste them at all in the smoothly and it makes it super healthy!

This makes 2 Large Smoothies and I share it with DH.

Sometimes I put Greek Yogurt in there if I want it to have a kick. You can also use canned pineapple, that adds a lot of sweetness. I generally don't add any sweetener unless I'm out of the juice and/or banana. Those two ingredients make it sweet enough for me personally but I don't like overly sweet smoothies first thing in the morning.

It's generally in the organic section of the grocery store near other specialty flours (almond flour, coconut flour, etc). I have also seen it near the hot cereals.

I might need to try that recipe. Everytime I have tried to make a smoothie it has turned out terrible!

I have wanted a smoothie for soooo long but haven't gotten one yet.

I must buy all items needed for making smoothies...I should probably start with a blender!

Yep I wanna smoothies too! Over the summer I made them with the kids a few times (strawberry banana ones yumm) and they were sooo good! It was the same recipe as above pretty much but I didn't use flax seed but might try it next time.

Just thought I'd share a recipe for a delicious smoothie, this is for a few portions. Its called sunrise smoothies it's easy 1 cup of diced strawberries, 1 cup of diced mango, 1 cup of watermelon, 1cup of freshly squeezed orange juice and 1 cup of raspberry sorbet, then blend yummy and really healthy.

I love smoothies! I usually use 100% fruit juice, either grape or orange (orange peach mango is really good!) and blend in enough frozen bananas to make it thick. That's it!

For variation I sometimes add shredded coconut (blend with the juice before adding frozen fruit to get it smooth) or other frozen fruits like peaches or strawberries in addition to the banana.
