I finally had my first appointment with my new OB (she rocks!) and mentioned that I had been having lots of BH (sometimes a whole lot). She checked my cervix and she said it had thinned quite a bit. She's sending me for an emergency scan (and a fibronectin test) on wednesday and I'm seeing her again on friday to discuss the results. She put me on prometrium meanwhile.

I could have done without those news *sighs* I'm taking things easy and trying to rest as much as I can before I get my test and the results.

Oh goodness, that stinks! I am so glad you got in and she is helping you get the tests and scan you need, tho. Having a good OB is so comforting. Please keep us posted, will definitely have you in my t&p and be watching for an update.

Maybe its because I'm used to the way our health system works (ie. slowly) but having a scan scheduled less than a week after my appointment seemed really fast to me

Thank you everyone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at least the fFn test will come back negative. That would help lowering my stress level.

Well I was moreso referring to the fetal fibronectic test. Did they explain it to you? Maybe it is the differences in the health system, but considering the nature of the test is to determine whether or not you're at risk of going into labor over the next week, I would think they would want the results ASAP...but if you're not worried, then don't worry.

Oh, I'm plenty worried.

There's just no other way around it. The appointment cannot be faster. This was the fastest they could give me. I know what the fFn test is and what it checks but as i said, the health system here works in mysteriously slow ways so I have to bid my time.

The only comforting thought is that if my cervix was looking really really bad, I would have been sent to L&D. So I take that as some moderately good news...

Yeah...Well only a little while longer. Just do as little as possible to avoid any kind of stimulation, you know?

Oh yes, I'm laying down as much as I can and drinking gallons of water. My SO came back from a month overseas so he can help me around the house finally.
