This is getting ridiculous. I will eat a large, well balanced dinner and be STARVING an hour later. It goes on like this all day. I feel like I'm constantly eating. I've gained around 17 lbs so far - most of it in the last 1.5 months. I checked my blood sugar on my own and have normal levels so I'm pretty sure it's not becuase of GD.
Anyone else in the same boat? Have you figured out any tricks to stay full? I tried just eating an apple for a snack but it didn't quite work... I was even hungrier a 1/2 hour later and my blood sugar was around 75 which is a little low & makes me crabby (so I needed food).
I was like that for the last month and I gained 10 pounds in one month. I just eat my regular meals and try to make my snacks healthy, but I do have 1 or 2 snacks mid-morning, 1 mid-afternoon, then one after dinner before I go to bed. And sometimes they are not little snacks! I just figure my baby needs to grow and that's why I'm hungry so I eat.
I told my doc how hungry I was at my last appointment and since I do have GD to trade a fourth of my carbs for protien. This has helped me alot with my sugar numbers but not so much with the hunger. I eat dinner and then again before bed and I have been having a midnight snack, too! But my gain is only 8lbs which is great!
