She said that my cervix at 3.3 cm is great! She said they don't like it to be under 2.5, so I'm in the clear. Next u/s in 2 weeks to check length again. My placenta is def not previa and is still moving up higher so the chance of accreta is way down! I then asked her if I'd be able to go past 37wks since the chance of accreta is low. She was hesitant to say yes, saying that she didn't think I would make it much past 37. I would really like to schedule this c-section and not go into labor, but I want this baby to say in as long as possible. So I guess the plan (if you can call it that) is to just see what changes I'm making that last month and if it looks like labor is soon, we schedule delivery. If we have to schedule before 39wks, I'll have to do an amnio ... hospital policy. The amnio last time is what put me into labor! Gained 5lbs, total of 12lbs total so far ! I was scared w/ all the pepsi and sweets that I was gonna be huge.. what a relief.

LOL @ you and that pepsi.

Glad your cervix is still a good length. I hope it stays that way. That's what mine was two weeks ago...and now it's 2.5, which is probably why I'm all screwed up.

What exactly is accreta?

Nina - Accreta is when the placenta grows too deep into the uterus (and sometimes even into the abdomen onto other oragns) and it does not detach at birth. The risk of this goes up w/ each c-section, if the placenta attaches in the front (which mine has) down low over the previous incision. The placenta vessels dig futher in, trying to find richer blood supply (past the scar tissue). The result is often a lot of blood loss durring the c-section, in my case they would just give me a hysterectomy rather than try and disect the placenta since I don't want anymore kids.

That is great news about your placenta. I hate the waiting game. Hoping baby stays cooking for good long while

Oh boy! That's scary. I'm glad your placenta is moving up. And since when do you need an amnio after 37 weeks???? Wow.

And I'm "Nia"

Yeah I'm confused as to why you'd need an amnio beyond 37 weeks too. Or is it if it's scheduled before 37 weeks?

Glad to hear your placenta is looking good
