So yesterday I was telling my dh about a patient who thought it was fine to go on and on about how huge my belly was. She insisted it must be twins or a boy for me to be this big already with so much longer to go. I told him I was shocked that people think it's fine to comment on your size when your pregnant. He then says, "Well, your stomach is big, but we have been eating out a lot lately..." Are you kidding me?????

I said, "Feel how hard my stomach is... do you really think this is french fries in here or a baby????" Oh my gosh! It cracks me up how oblivious he is to this whole pregnancy/woman's body thing! LOL

LOL! "We have been eating out a lot lately" hahaha Oh that's cute! I've only had one or two comments and it's usually "Wow, must not be much longer now!" Yeah.... lol

My husband is the one that keeps commenting on my size and "waddle". Yesterday I was just sitting there talking to him and he just leans over, grabs my belly like a basketball and starts giving it a slight jiggle saying "Look at that belly! You're getting so big! My pregnant wifey!" lol I was like what the heck dude stop that!! I walk through the house and he starts snickering and making comments like "Ah ha ha your waddle! It's so cute!"

My husband is the opposite, he just refuses to admit that I'm getting bigger. He tried to tell me that he can barely tell a difference that I'm sill tiny and sexy.......that's much worse hahaha I'd rather he tell me im huge!!!

i don't think its a big deal, same way i don't think rubbing a belly is a big deal. eh ppl get fat when pregnant its normal, bellys get big, someone said to me "oh your face is round now " and i sd "yea well i have a reason " and smiled.

now its when u have the baby and don't loose the weight that i think it would be insensitive for someone to comment like that

I am with you! People need to stop making comments to people about how "huge" they are. It is not okay.

You better watch all those french fries Jessica.

Pregnancy seems to just give people an excuse to lack tact.

Yeah I don't get people. My dh tells me all the time look at that big belly but then tells me how sexy he thinks I am so I know he doesn't mean it negatively, he loves me being pregnant. But sometimes strangers and men don't think before opening their mouths.

My husband keeps telling me I need to eat more and that a bigger belly means a healthier baby, haha! I'm like...uh...I don't need to eat more. The doc said my weight gain and 'belly size' is right on track. Eating more is not going to make my uterus grow...LOL!

Luckily I haven't got any 'you're huge' comments. I'm pretty sensitive about my weight/size so I would probably start crying. One lady yesterday told me "You're finally starting to look pregnant, I didn't believe you for a while!" Bless her! I've been looking pregnant for quite a while but I just took it as a compliment.

ETA: My DH did say that I'm starting to waddle. I don't think it's true, it's just hard to get off of our couch b/c it's super cushy and sits low so I have to give myself a push to stand up.

I would have smacked him too.

Men are definitely clueless. Last weekend DH came home from work and told me that he had been discussing how huge I am with a female coworker who had asked how I'm doing, and a male coworker was standing there listening. Apparently he was going on and on, because the male coworker said, "Dude, she hasn't killed you for talking about her like that?" DH looked very puzzled and told him that I'm pregnant... with twins, and the guy said, "Oh I didn't know she was pregnant! I was wondering how you are still walking."

I think that is one of those comments that I would be stuck between "wow you're a total jerk" and "haha that's funny"
I seem to get a lot of those recently

My mom came over the other morning while I was still sleeping. When I came out of the bedroom she was like "good morning my fat girl" I was just like "wow mom really? Thanks." Smh lol

My male co-worker affectionately known as my work hubby told me a couple weeks ago, don't take this the wrong way, but you've got the waddle.....lol

My real hubby calls me chubbs - I'm truly OK with it. I feel so blessed to be pregnant and it's not like I was under any misconception that I wouldn't bloat out there.

I'm still able to wear my belly bands and haven't gone to maternity clothes yet, but it's coming. We were getting ready to out for the day yesterday. I put on my jeans and they were sooooooooo tight even completely unbuttoned and unzipped. My hubby asked why don't you just put on your sweatpants and be comfortable. I was shocked and told him I thought he would appreciate the effort to not look like a fat hobo and he said who cares you're pregnant and should be comfortable.

Awwww

My 2.5 year old walks up to me, lifts my shirt, and starts singing this little song that says "It's your tummy -- BIG and FAT, BIG and FAT, BIG and FAT..." to the tune of London Bridge is Falling Down. I don't know where she learned that but I guess you can see the rude pregnancy comments start at a young age!

It's like it's programmed into people's brains from birth haha.
