Not ready...still have to get Noelle's layaway and wrap her stuff. I think what I'm going to do tomorrow is use one of the motor scooters (I don't know what they're called) and pick her stuff up, so I won't have to physically walk around Walmart.

I got an email from Target today that my uncle's gift has shipped, so that should be here in the next couple of days.

I haven't shipped my grandparent's gifts, although they're finished now. What I really need is for my sis to come and run some errands for me. It has been accepted that I will not be contributing to Christmas dinner this year either. I'm guessing it's ok for me to go to dinner at my aunt's though. Of course I'll ask on Monday at my appointment.

Gosh I hate feeling so helpless...

Most of the kids' Christmas gifts will be arriving via UPS in the next few days/week, then I'll need to wrap them. DH is already taken care of and my MIL is making a huge deal about not wanting us to spend money on them this year so we're doing homemade cookies and such in adorable little reusable tins. I need to think of something to send my dad still and get it sent since we won't be seeing them this year.. And I need to pick up stocking stuffers.. Then, I believe that will be it!

Dh's family draws names and so does mine. We've done it this way for about 3 years now....just for the sake of money is a lil tight. We also do a secret santa game at his aunts house. So I still need to buy for 2 people and DH hasnt even started. He waits until like the 23rd.....

*lalalalalala* I can't hear you!

I feel as though I have so much left to do and DH has a crazy few weeks work-wise before Christmas. I need to sit down and get an organized list together!

Yep, I have wrapping to do still. Need to pick up a few gift cards. Otherwise, I think I'm done.

We need to pick up a couple of gift cards for out of town relatives and mail those.

I ordered my Christmas cards and did the address labels already so I'll just need ot stuff the envelopes and get some stamps when they come.

I need to get our stockings embroidered but it's not a huge deal if that doesn't happen this year.

Need to wrap gifts and finish picking up stocking stuffers for DH's parents who will be with us over Christmas.

Need to get 2 white elephant gifts for a party this Sunday night.

I think that's it, LOL. Most of my major shopping is done at least. There is one more thing for DH I need to get.

What is a "white elephant" gift? I've seen this expression used on FB when referring to a fruit cake.

It's usually a gender neutral gift under a designated amount ($15 or whatever) that you bring to a gift exchange. Each person brings a gift and draws a number. The first person opens a gift. The 2nd can either steal the first person's gift or open a new gift. And so it goes. The last person gets to steal any gift they want or open the last present. It's pretty fun! There are usually some other rules too, like a gift can only be stolen 3 times and then it's 'locked', and no steal backs from the person who just stole from you.

ETA: Some of these types of gift exchanges allow 'used' gifts where someone brings something they already own. I don't think those are as fun personally b/c you end up leaving with junk even if you brought something nice.

Wikipedia knows all. LOL! White elephant gift exchange - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've heard it called a Yankee Swap too. No idea how those names came about.
