I have an opportunity to go to Germany for a conference in September. It would be just me, so DH would be home with DS (3 years) and DD (6 months). We're both totally fine with that. The only issue is that I am breastfeeding and I assume I will still be then. So I will have to pump for 6 days. I am pretty sure I am going to skip it because I am imagining it will be such a pain! (I pumped at work for about 9 months for DS so I have experience.)

What would you do?

I'd pump so that BFing was still workable when I got back, if it were me. And build a freezer stash in he meantime.

I agree. I might not pump every 2-3 hours, but I would definitely try to pump every 4-6 or so to keep my supply going.

With a good electric breast pump, its not so bad. I would pump just enough to keep my supply up and maintain my ability to breastfeed.

I hope you'll find something that works for you

Well, the question isn't to pump or not to pump. It's to go or not to go.

If I go I will pump no matter what. I'm just trying to figure out if I will be able to enjoy the trip while trying to fit in the pumping or if it will be too much of a hassle.

My rule of thumb is that if someone responsible has the kid(s) under control, jump at opportunities

Oh! Absolutely do it. That is the kind of thing that I think you will regret passing up. Having to pump a few times a day won't be that much of a hassle.
