I know we can't do sunscreen yet - right? So how do you prep your baby for fun in the sun, do you worry about exposure or just get out and enjoy it?

For short periods of time, I just bring him outside. For a loner time period, I make sure he wears hats and is under an umbrella or in the shade.

I keep her in the shade. My mom got her a pair of sunglasses but she hates them!

W usually try to keep him in the shade with a bucket hat on. He has fair sansitive skin, so I'm super paranoid about him burning.

I try to keep her in the shade as much as possible and just let her out in the direct sunshine for short periods .. If there's some reason she has to be in the sun for a while (hasn't come up yet, but if it does) I'll use a small amount of sunscreen and a sunhat

They recommend sunscreen for babies older than 6 months because sunscreen is all chemicals and babies skin to body ratio is a lot higher so they soak up a lot more than an older child would.

And as for us, it's 114 degrees .... If the sun is out, we are in, lol.

We stay in the shade unless we're out in the evening.

We are pretty high up in the Canadian Rockies so we haven't had a lot of warm sunny days yet (in fact I drove through snow this morning) but we will keep to either a sun hat or the shade until Anden is old enough for sunscreen. By then it might be snowing again here......

So far we have stayed in the shade but I do plan to take her to the pool sometime soon. We got her a rash guard shirt with regular bottoms and we plan to put a hat on her. We'll only bring her in the sun for a few minutes but I want to see how she likes the water.

All about the shade, but I limit his time out bc he over heats fast. Texas is just to dang HOT!

Sun hats and I'll be honest, I've put sunscreen on her once cause I forgot a sun hat and a friend had sunscreen. I figured 1 time was better than a sun burn.

For short exposures I just take them out. For longer ones I try to keep them in the shade, I bought one of these for the backyard, park and beach trips Sun Smarties Family Beach Cabana Tent - One Step Ahead Baby. I use bucket hats, and if they're swimming they have rash guards on. We are going to the beach for a week soon, and I'm going to check with the pedi at they're 4 month check on 6/19 to see if a little sunscreen will be ok while we're away.
