Saturday (the 16th) night I felt a really weird bubbly leaking feeling in my underwear (TMI haha) and I was sure that my water had broken. I went to the bathroom and it looks like well how it has been the last few weeks which is leaking pee. So I just cleaned up and went to bed. Sunday (the 17th) I was paying more attention to down there and I kept having little leaking spots on my underwear. About 4:30PM I told my mom that I think we need to go get checked out just incase.
I arrived around 5:30PM and they tested my fluid and sure enough I was leaking and they told me I was staying! I was super excited! They hooked me up to the monitors and apparently I was contracting every 1 1/2 to 2 minutes but I felt nothing. They also checked out far along, I was 2CM, 90% effaced and -1 station. Just after 7PM I felt this huge pop in my area down there, as if she kicked me from the outside or something it was weird. I then shifted positions and all of a sudden this uncontrollable flow just gushed out. Though the fluid this time when it was gushed out showed that there was meconium in there. So they told me they would have NICU on standby just incase. After my water broke I started to feel my contractions and by 8PM I was asking for an Epidural because I have absolutely no pain tolerance. 8:45 I was getting my epidural, and oh my gosh I never cried so much, I think I drenched the nurses shirt. Finally the pain was done with and now I was just waiting. At 4AM I was 10CM and fully effaced, but the nurses held out on pushing until baby came down more. At 6:30AM baby was at +2 and I started my pushes.
McKinley Grace was born June 18, 2012 at 7:32 AM weighing 8lbs 10oz. We both had little fevers and with the meconium in the fluid the NICU took her to my bedside incubator instead of my chest. I was then handed my baby girl. She is doing wonderful and didn't even need to be admitted to NICU. She's just perfect and I am so in love!! I was supposed to be induced June 20 so I am super glad she decided to come all on her own!
