Did any of you get an IUD for your BC? I got an Copper IUD that has no hormones. The doctor told me to check for my strings once a month to make sure that they were there... well I have not done that till today and the only reason I did was bc I have been having pregnancy signs. I am still BFing so I have not started a period yet and I did not think I was pregnant until just now when I could not feel my strings. I just keep thinking, no way; its just in my mind. what should I think or do?
I'd call your doctor's office for sure on that one. I don't have an IUD - my doctor herself had a bad experience with one, and has had a lot of patients they didn't work out so well with, so she kind of poo-poo'd the idea, LOL.
Yeah, I'd call Ypur doctor and have them make sure it's still in place. This reminds me that I need to check for mine to make sure it's still there.
Kim- there is a "string" that is attached to the IUD. It's is a very fine metal string I guess. Since the IUD is in your uterus, the string hangs down through your cervix and into your vagina. For removal I think?
