Hi Ladies! The good news is I'm getting a lot done since quitting Facebook...which is what I needed. But I miss y'all already.
So yesterday my in-laws came by, and they told us that FIL's cousin had a baby boy at 10lbs! The tragic news is that he was born brain-dead. At first they thought it was because the cord was around his neck and they had to wait 20 minutes for the anaestesiologist to do the c-section. But as it turned out after some scans and tests, he was probably losing brain mass for a few weeks prior to his birth. They think it was a cord prolapse that went undetected. He was taken off life support on Saturday, and when my in-laws visited yesterday they said you'd hardly know he was brain dead - he looks like a normal healthy newborn, and his brain stem is operating his life systems so far. So the parents are in the NICU spending their time with their precious little boy, waiting for him to pass. So please pray for the baby boy and his family. I can't fathom their heart break. I just keep thinking about how if it were me, I'd be secretly hoping that he would miraculously wake up. So so sad.
