My Dr took bloodwork today for this test. We should have results in about a week. One thing that amazed me is they can tell if the baby is a boy or girl. At just shy of 12 weeks. Amazing how far technology has come since I had my last 11 years ago. "Back then" you could only tell with an amniocentesis if something was wrong and they guessed at 20 weeks what the baby was going to be based on what they saw.

Neat! I'm having some genetic testing done in a few weeks, and I've been wondering whether it's going to tell us the sex. Did they tell you how accurate the test was?

I had my last 10 years ago - and there does seem to be lots of new things. I'll be getting my testing done in a couple of weeks.

Accuracy depends on which test they do. I did the Panorama. Here is the website with facts on the one I did. Panorama Prenatal Test: Comprehensive, Accurate and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing

Lurking...

I had that test done at 12 weeks and it was accurate for me. Ultrasound confirmed it was indeed a girl. It took 10 days total to get the results.

I would love to have this test done but am unsure as to whether my insurance will cover it or not. If they recommend doing it though we'll have it done regardless and just pay it off slowly - I'm assuming it's expensive!

My dr says panorma is $150 I believe if insurance won't cover it.

I have no need for these tests, but it is pretty cool. I love genetics so it is fun to see it advance.

I'm having the same test done on the 10th of Oct. It's such a new test it wasn't available just a few years ago when I got pregnant with my 2nd, so I'm pretty fascinated by it.

I had the one done by harmony. Same test just different company. It claims 99% accuracy. Results in 14 days. The doctor said it would probably be around $200 that insurance doesn't pay. I called my insurance with the codes on the website and they said 100% covered so we will see. I should get the results next week. Eek. So excited to possible know the gender so soon. I had my baby girl 5 years ago and they didn't have this so amazing how hints have changes.
