So I had to go in for a checkup and they did an ultrasound due to me having some stomach pains, in the midst of the ultrasound the ultrasound tech said she thought it was a girl and didn't see boy parts, however a few more minutes in she said ooooh theres boy parts and she got a snap shot ... is it possible she was wrong and this could still be a girl?

I think it's probably more accurate if they saw boy parts, than say if the baby wasn't turned right and the parts were hiding and they said it's a girl. Are you having another u/s around 20 weeks?

I think it's more likely at this point for them to be wrong about a boy because all babies look the same until 15ish weeks (I think between 13 and 15 weeks is when it officially becomes distinctively girl or boy. So, I think there's still a chance for a girl. I definitely wouldn't go all out buying blue everything just yet!!

Given her uncertainty I'd assume she could be wrong. Ultrasound techs have been known to make incorrect guesses later in pregnancy too.

Same thing happened to my friend. She was cramping went it, everything was fine they said "Oh it's a boy!" she was about 14 or 15 weeks? And then she went in for her regular scheduled appointment 3 weeks later and they checked again and said "nope it's a girl" they have a beautiful 5 year old girl.

Sometimes the "girl parts" can still be swollen at this stage. I know somebody who had an elective gender scan at 15 weeks and they told her boy. At her anatomy scan at 20 weeks it was a girl!! I think they just caught a portion of the swollen labia and it appeared to be a penis, but wasnt.

Id wait till your 20 week ultrasound to make any gender announcements
