What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

I am expecting to be invited to my MIL for Thanksgiving but so far we have not been invited and honesty with her having 8 dogs and 3 smokers there full time plus how bad the supper was last year I am hoping not to have to go.

8 dogs?!?! Yikes!!

This year we are doing it alone. DH only has a long weekend so it would be pointless to fly/drive out to see family for the holiday. I am probably going to get dinner catered by Honey Baked Ham so I won't have to cook!

We do the same thing every year b/c I refuse to have both families at our house.

We go to my in-laws for "dinner" @1:00. Usually one of DH cousins, wife, children attend.

Then we go to my parents for dinner @5/6:00. I am the oldest of 6. I am the only one with children but, my siblings usually bring a boyfriend/girlfriend. And my grandmother and uncle come too. Either way its a full, exciting, loud house!

My MIL comes to stay with us for about 6 days... We host a bit Thanksgiving party the week before Thanksgiving with a 20+ lb. bird. We usually use whatever's leftover to make turkey pot pie for the 3 of us.

We're going to a local restaurant or something, not sure which one yet. We leave for FL the next day so I don't want to cook and waste all those leftovers. I'm going to make a turkey dinner in December to make up for it.

We'll go to my parents. About 10 people. Great food and great time.

We are going to FIL’s house around 3pm Thanksgiving. My mom is wanting to plan something too with us, but the way FIL made plans this year it makes it difficult. We may go to FIL’s on Thanksgiving and do a whole 2nd Thanksgiving at my mom’s on Friday. I’m just glad I got out of hosting it this year. I didn’t feel like cooking or cleaning up after a huge group of people. (DH’s family is BIG)

Due to some crazy circumstances, we are hosting this year. My parents have been planning to come in for months, so they are flying in from California for the week to stay with us. His parents, brother, and grandmother are driving in Wednesday from Ohio, and recently informed us they'd be staying with us too. Oyyy. Then his grandparents, who would normally host this, just moved into an assisted living facility, so they'll be coming down for the day as well. Perhaps an aunt and uncle too, but they're still up in the air.

So there will be 8 people living at our house, and up to 4 more coming for dinner. My house is not that big. I do not like turkey or any of the normal thanksgiving foods, so I'm not terribly thrilled about making the meal. I really want to order pizza and play board games instead

DH and I are hosting for the second year. We'll have his family (8 adults and 3 kids) for dinner. My mom and grandma will come by for dessert after having dinner with my sister and her in laws. Lucky me, DH does most of the cooking. I'll be in charge of stuffing, rolls, dessert, and cleaning the house. DH will make turkey, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. My MIL will bring greens, her signature pasta salad, and also dessert. We will not be wanting for food!

Nothing big on that Thursday. DH will work so his co-workers can have the night off and DD and I will probably do some school to be honest. Our big day is the Sunday after. DH takes the day off and we host whoever wants to come in the family. I won't know until a few days before who can make it. Two of my brothers share an apartment and sometimes the older one has to work if his company has a project going, which means the younger one can't come either since he doesn't have a car. But it's usually about 15 of us.

I honestly have no idea as of right now, probably visiting my mom then going to visit DH's side of the family at some point. The end of November is so hectic for us & everyone tries to cram in seeing each other on Thanksgiving.

DH's grandpa's birthday is November 27th (this is also the day we have our anatomy scan! ), Thanksgiving is the 28th, My baby sister's birthday is the 29th, my BIL's birthday is the 30th & my SIL's birthday is December 1st! It's an exhausting week!
