Nothing going on here. I will be putting DD to bed soon, having a glass of sparkling grape juice and going to bed myself. DH will stay up till midnight, but I have to care for DD tomorrow and don't really want to be exhausted all day from that.
No plans at all. We haven't gone out since 2006. DH is actually home tonight but, he went to bed @8:30.
I did take the girls to a countdown to noon party at the library today. It was super cute. They read New Years stories. Had pizza, water/apple juice, cookies, pretzels. Then @noon they counted down and released a ton of balloons. They also had 4 arts and crafts for the kids to do.
We took our kids to see the Hobbit. The weather was really treacherous and the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed, so I grabbed wings and a frozen pizza from the grocery store. I still have to work for about 30 more minutes and then we will chow and hopefully (I) will stay awake for at least the NY ball drop. Probably not make it until midnight in Chicago. Happy New Year everyone.
Well DH worked til 1 or 1:30. DD and I got takeout and a movie (but finished both before midnight). DD stayed up until midnight, while I snoozed on the couch. Then I woke up a little after midnight and sent her off to bed and I did the same.
We are at a lodge in the middle of the amazon rain forest. The staff celebrated Peruvian style, with yellow hats and ties and masks (good luck), balloons and confetti poppers, and salsa dancing! Then the generators were immediately turned off and we went back to our room via candles and flashlights. Memorable, for sure!
Definitely not going to have another nye of this level for many years post baby, so I'm glad we could fit in this trip.
