Okay... I was getting intense contractions all day yesterday about 30 min then down to 20 min apart. No big deal. This could go on for weeks yet. Took a bath last night and no more tightening contractions but the back pain and period type cramps stayed. DId not sleep well. Now this morning back pain and cramps are 10X worse. SO bad I really just want to scream and cry. Tightening contractions have started back up to... but I have yet to time them. But mostly it is the consistent very very intense strong period type cramps. They are so so so much worse then any period I have had. And those are BAD.

And here is the quandary. I am without a car and everyone is at work. We only have one car to share between my sister my husband and myself. She dropped him off. So If I were to call L&D and they told me to come in I would have to have them both come home from work. And I would feel like poooo if it was a false alarm.

I have a fairly high pain tolerance... and this is a 7 at the least.

Open to advice here.

Take a bath. I was told that all the time with DD. A bath won't stop true labor, but it can calm BH/false labor contractions.

After the bath, I would drink a ton of water, lay down for an hour if possible and start timing. That way when/if you call L&D you will be armed with a little more information.

I took a bath last night... and it only helped a little. But I have been guzzling the water. Like a always do. And laying down. They seem to have just gone away. THank God... I cannot deal with this today. I am too pissed off and upset.

I second that - glad they've gone away. I guess for the future I would just suggest giving DH & sis a little bit of a heads up so they can stay "on-call" in case things take a turn for the intolerable. That way they don't have to be totally caught by surprise if you end up needing the car in a jiff. How's public transportation where you live? Do you have an emergency cab fund? Does insurance cover ambulance? If too personal to answer those last two, no worries! They are things I have to consider myself, as we also share a vehicle and live in a heavy-traffic area.
