I got a call from my medical group calling to help me pick out a pediatrician the other day for Gwenyth. Yesterday, my husband got a call from the hospital social worker, saying they lost the paperwork allowing them to do the autopsy on her and doing the pathology on the placenta. It's been almost 2 weeks. Ugh. My husband slipped back down into some depression because of that call. And unfortunately, all of it just brings out the "Snappy Tammy" inside me and that doesn't help anyone. Ugh. I guess it's nap time.

Ugh, I'm so sorry honey! Are you going to be able to get new paperwork signed so they can still do the autopsy?

As far as the medical group...yeah...you wish that they had brains, huh? Don't you think that they would have realized that since you delivered her so early that she wouldn't need a pediatrician?

I hate brainless people.

I am so sorry hun. I dom't remember signing any papers, but I didn't have an autopsy either. I hate to think about money, but I couldn't afford it. My placenta was sent off for a pathology report tho and we found out what happened that way, so I guess the autopsy in my case wasn't necessary. GL and I hope you can get everythings straightened out.

I think maybe that it just shows that I would have been 25+ weeks along that I should be thinking about a pediatrician. Who knows. My husband was able to get the paperwork faxed to him at work and resent back to them. But it definitely made him feel uber-depressed. He is much more sensitive than some men.

I know how you feel hon. The day my son died I got a call from the hospital asking for paperwork to get his insurance done, I just cried and told them he died and hung up. She called again the following week and went on about me needing to take in proof of death for him to get coverage for the 4 days he was alive, I didn't have proof of death at that point and I had to call 3 different places to even get it. I still don't have a death certificate because they *still* haven't signed off on the autopsy report.

Unfortunately the reminders will keep coming, I don't know about anyone else, I still get emails from all the baby sites I signed up for, telling me I am 38 weeks pregnant etc, I get free samples in the mail.

They did make us sign all the paperwork for autopsy's when they knew he was passing away, it's all such a blur I barely remember it.

Oh and I did get a call when he was 3 days old from my OB office (my OB office are the ones that DELIVERED him) reminding me I had a growth ultrasound scheduled for that friday.

Sometimes people either get caught up in bad communication or just don't think.

I can not believe they lost the paperwork - way to make the grieving process even harder!!!
