Hi girls,

I know this isn't the place to be asking, but this is the only forum I really ever go on. Sorry in advance if it's too much information.

So as many of you know, I got my period last week (after a 52 day cycle). I started spotting on Monday and it came full show on the Wednesday. It's now been over one week and it's still pretty heavy and I've had huge clots and everything. I've never had this (mind you, I've never had such a long cycle either). Usually it only lasts about 5 days max. It's pretty gross and it just doesn't seem to be going away. I thought it was slowing down yesterday and then this morning a big gush of blood came again and hasn't stopped the whole day.

Should I worry or go to my Dr. or do you think it's sort of compensating for the long cycle (if it even does that?) or could it just be longer than average?

Thanks girls

Definitely go see the doctor.

All I know is if there are clots plus it's an unusual cycle it's better safe than sorry!

I agree - it's probably not a cause for concern, but if it's unusual I would at least put a call in to your doctor to talk to them about it, they might want you to get checked out. I don't like anything that feels "weird" and abnormal, KWIM?

I think you should call the Dr. also. Maybe there is something going on in there you need to know about. Maybe an answer to your long cycle.

Good luck and please KUP!

If my cycle was long like that it would be heavier and last longer but if you are having big clots then it can't hurt to get that checked out. I sometimes have some clots but not big ones, or how I define big. Please KUP.

My cycle was wonky this month too (TWO periods?!). I called the doctor and have an appointment Tuesday because I'm sure everything is fine but if I don't hear that from a doctor soon I'll worry myself sick! KUP.

I phoned the Dr. office b/c I had to make an app't anyway. I asked the nurse there if I should book an app't with him and she said it doesn't seem to be anything to be worried about and I'm going in next week for my annual anyway, so she said just mention it to him then.

The clots seem to have stopped, but it's still fairly heavy.

Well, it's good that you have an appointment booked for next week at least. Though I'd say if it gets worse then you should see someone... but if it's easing off then it should be fine. Oh, our bodies are just all so evil.
