Stupid people. I went to the family drs and got the old "go see a shrink routine but here's your lexapro". Great. No one in my area deals with ppd after stillbirth. Found a practice that deals with depression. As I'm bawling on the phone, I got the next appt. NEXT WEEK! 8 days. Yeah. No problem. None at all.

Deacon Marshall wnted to drop his plans this week...but he's getting his doctorate in St. Louis!!! So I made an appt with him for Monday.

Everyone wants me to get help. I'm trying. I'm not suicidal. Just maddened. I take care of my kids, but I can't work right now. So I'm not functioning. I NEED HELP.

*sigh*

Funny, everyone has opinions on how people who have a stillborn child ought to deal with things. Great opinions.

I'm so sorry that the process is being so frustrating.

And you know what? People can stuff their opinions. Unless you've been THROUGH it, they won't understand!

That's so awesome that Deacon Marshall wanted to drop everything. I hate that he couldn't right away though. I wish I could be there to help you honey.

That part really drove me crazy when I first realized I had depression (a long, long time ago).... it's like you WANT to get help, but every time you try you have to wait, or someone throws a pill at you, or doesn't believe you. It's just idiotic how many roadblocks there are to prevent people from actually getting the help they need!

I know you are non-functional... this is going to probably be the worst part for you. I'm willing to say I was pretty non-functional for more than a month, and I didn't have to deal with much (no kids, no work, etc).

Love opinions from people who have never been there. *sigh* Sometimes helpful... frequently not so much.

It was hard to deal with as a therapist - because of how insane medical insurance is, it often made it hard for patients to start therapy or stay in therapy. The system is really broken.

I am so sorry Heather you are having a rough go - as for working right now - you need time to grieve - don't think you have to be superwomen and go back to work just like that!!!
