NJ issues a Certificate of Birth Resulting In Stillbirth. I just e-mailed someone to find out how to apply for it. I will have a birth certificate for Colm, not just a death certificate.

I think there are 25 states that do it. I am actually surprised that NJ does.

Oh that's great! Idaho does, but I never got it. At the time, even the $13 was just too much money (we were so completely dirt poor). Now, I can't get an original certificate (Idaho has a 2 year limit on getting originals or some dumb junk like that). It no longer matters, really, either.

Anyway, I'm glad you get one though!

I think I feel like it matters because of how many people imply he wasn't a real baby. That he wasn't born, that he was medical waste. I guess even a piece of paper can make us feel just a little bit better.

Yeah, I totally understand that feeling. And I was so glad that they offered one for Cora, even if I couldn't take them up on it. I was just saying that I couldn't get one when I needed it, and now that I can afford it, it doesn't really matter to me as much. I hope that soon all 50 states will offer one.
