I have a friend who always forwards those cheesy chain text messages.

This one said: "To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better."

I don't think she sent it over because of Clark but that sentence still got to me. I know God didn't take Clark from me because the baby I am pregnant with now is somehow better. It still hurt though.

I understand, I got a similar e-mail a couple months ago, it does sting.

I hate it too, because I'm having the problem where everyone talks about this baby like he had something Keegan didn't. I can't get it through to them there was nothing wrong with him, he was perfect. It was a problem with my body.

First of all, I don't believe that it's true in really any circumstance (except that it's not a punishment part...), let alone the loss of a baby. There isn't anything "better" about Erin or Patrick. Sure, I appreciate them more having lost Cora before, but...I don't think that's "better" than never having lost her...

I'm lucky - I was pretty vocal about hating chain emails and texts well before I had Ethan, so I never get them now. Which is good for the people sending them, because if I got the chain text you did I would have fired off a snippy response.

I think that the people who invent these ridiculous sayings have never had a bad thing actually happen to them.

Yeah, exactly. It sounds kind of cool if you don't really think about it, but if you've had bad things happen to you it doesn't sound so nice anymore. I mean, really... it's simply not a nice thing to say!

I think when people send the emails they don't think at all about how it might be taken, I guess it's too much effort for them to stop and think before sending them.
