Moms -

I had a heck of a day. I couldn't get Pippi to kick me. No matter the amount of poking and prodding I did, she wasn't kicking me back. I laid down on my left side after drinking an ice cold diet soda; nothing. I poked and wiggled her around; nothing. I felt some very faint 'waves' of movement throughout the day, but that was it.

In fact, what tipped me off was that each and every night, between 1:30 and 3:00 a.m. when I wake up to pee, I could count on her kicking me like crazy for at least 1/2 hour. This past night, I slept right through until 4:30 a.m. and never felt her kick me once.

Needless to say, I spent more than once bawling my eyes out, begging her to kick me and not just give me soft waves and flutters. When Nate came home from work, we decided we were going to L&D. I called the perinatologists office and they told me to go there immediately. In fact, they must've taken me SO seriously that the nurses greeted me with "Are you Barbara?" as soon as we walked in.

They gave me an NST and said everything was perfect. I was on the fetal monitor for 1.5 hours and Pippi's heartbeat was steady the entire time. She did kick a few times, she moved around, she even got the hiccups. But needless to say, the evening just drained me emotionally. I was begging the universe to PLEASE not put me through another stillbirth, especially not when Pippi was due to arrive via C-section in only 4 short days

I needed to share this; I know you all would understand my fear. The staff was just wonderful, and showed their sympathy when I told them that because of the previous stillbirth, I needed to know that Pippi was okay and that her heart was beating steadily.

I had to get this off my chest, but I also have a feeling I am going to be a complete &$^ing mental case until Monday. I can't stand this feeling. I just can't stand this.

Erin did that same thing to me. I'm so sorry honey, I hope Pippi is at least normal for the next 4 days. I'll be praying for your sanity and Pippi's safe arrival on Monday!!

awwww Barb, so relieved to hear she's doing well. That is quite the scare....as you know I went to L&D the other day myself because I had the same fear. It is so terrifying, but just so relieving to hear the beautiful heartbeat!

And wow, only 4 more days!

Note to Pippi: Please don't scare your mommy like that again!

I hate scares like that. I am glad all is well with Pippi! The last couple days I was the most paranoid and they were soooo tough. Pretty soon you will be holding her in your arms!!!

I'm glad everything turned out okay! I can imagine the anxiety, fear and stress you went through. I worry about decreased movement everyday. I just can't wait for it to be done and finally have him alive in my arms. I hate worrying about something going wrong and decreased movement.

I hope these next 4 days speed by for you!! (((hugs)))

ugh, that stopped my heart, even though you said it was okay in the title!

I'll be thinking of you. I can imagine how terrifying this all is. I hope you're able to update on Monday. I'll be waiting!

*hugs*
