I need you thoughts on this. My expected due date was to be March 5 of this year. Of course, our baby went to heaven before that. I'm invited to go to a scrapbooking retreat on that day for the weekend. I said I didn't know, because of the date, but hubby thinks it would be a good idea.

Part of me says, yes I do want to go have some fun with the girls. The other part says that I am going to be sad, and I don't want to bring other's down. I just don't know.

What's your thoughts. How did you handle your EDD?

I think I would go. My EDD was 12 days after Cora was stillborn, so other than that day being Mother's Day, I didn't really notice. But I like having something to look forward to planned for Cora's birthday each year. As long as your friends will let you feel how you feel, it can be a good thing. Especially if you can do something small to honor her that day.

For me the days leading up to it are harder than the actual day itself. I'm not sure why, but expecting it to be hard is harder than what it actually is (not sure if that made any sense!)

Good luck honey. In then end, don't NOT go because of how your friends will feel if you feel like its something you really want to do.

I think as long as the people that you would be going with would understand if you need some time alone for a while, I say go. Enjoy yourself. It might be good to take your mind off things. And like Brittanie said, I found that the days leading up to the due date were actually worse than the day itself.

I would go, distraction can really help. For Ethan's DDC DH and I went out to dinner and toasted our little man, that's all. It might have helped if I had had something else to think about.
