I haven't posted much about me in the past few weeks I don't think, so I thought I'd give an update for anyone who wanted one
We got the autopsy results for Matthew and everything came back "normal" except for the pulmonary hypoplasia, which is why he wouldn't have survived very long after birth no matter when he was born. It might sound bad, but I was so relieved to hear that he had this- my biggest fear would be that his lungs would be found to be normal and he would have been OK if he had had a few more weeks "baking". His chromosomes were normal as well so the conclusion is that my water broke around 17 1/2 weeks for an unknown reason and otherwise everything was normal. I'm going to be having more lab tests done (I have the list if anyone wants the specifics)- they're mostly the thrombophelia panel, some of which I had done previously, but I guess my IgA was low positive so they want to rerun some of them. Also, DH and I are both getting chromsomal studies done to ensure everything is OK there as well. I'n having mine done tomorrow and hopefully DH will have his done later this week.
I'm also going for an abdominal CT tomorrow ordered by my urologist. I had hematuria during pregnancy and they want to see if anything is abnormal.
I spoke with the HR rep at work, and I was told I have to have 1250 hours in by April 14th, 2011 in order to get my full leave for another pregnancy- I currently have around 350! So, basically, I can't get sick or take any time off between now and April to get there. I did the math and I can only miss 69 hours. I'm going to hopefully try to pick up a few shifts when the hospital gets busier in a few months. So, we were going to start TTC this month, but I think we might wait at least another cycle. I'm just afraid I would have to go out early again for some reason and then I'd miss out on the leave once the baby got here.
Well, that's pretty much it for me! Hope everyone else is doing well!
Congrats to those that recently had their rainbow babies! I hope to be joining you next year!
Annalise is hoping to be a big sister on June 28, 2014. Forever missing her big brother, Matthew, stillborn on July 1, 2010.
I am so glad you have answers, and can move forward. We had chromosomal studies done too, and they did a whole helacious panel again with my amnio. This time everything came normal. Hang in there and I hope the rest of your tests go well.
They always recommend them and I always do them. I take the day off work to relax afterwards. I have had abnormal things come back on bloodwork and amnios, so now it's just kind of an automatic thing for me. I prefer if there is going to be something wrong I have time to prepare, or if there is going to be an issue when the baby is born, I want all doctors aware and ready.
That makes sense. I didn't have one with Matthew but I don't know what I would do for a future pregnancy.
It's just my personality, I have to know all the what ifs and try to prepare as much as I can, although when things go bad you can prepare all you want, but the heartbreak and pain are the same. You just have to do what you are comfortable with, and what you feel at the time.
