I posted here in March about my friend who had recently found out that her baby no longer had a heartbeat. She delivered her perfect little girl a few days later.

She is now pregnant with her second baby, a girl, due in April. I am making a few things for her baby shower. One thing I thought about making is a shirt or blanket with a rainbow on it. I wanted to check here and see if that would be appropriate. Please let me know your thoughts.

I would really appreciate a baby gift like that, even though my rainbow baby is already 8 months old.

Congrats to your friend

I think that the blanket, which represents you remember and acknowledge her little angel is going to be so appreciated. I've had some people give me gifts that acknowledge my Cora (even just this Christmas), and every time it just warms my heart to have people remember.

Congrats to your friend!

I agree!

There is a small part of mw that says you should save it for a when the baby is born gift. I would be very sad if I received a 'rainbow' gift and then the rainbow baby didn't live for some reason.

That's very true. I live in the land of "if" when pregnant after losing Cora. I don't really believe my babies are coming home until they're born. But hopefully that doesn't happen

I think that's a really good idea. Thank you for the advice.

I agree with the others. I think it's a beautiful gesture but I would also wait until the little girl is born. Also, a gift just for her to recognize her baby would be wonderful. She's lucky to have a friend like you!
