So, I went through Erin's and Patrick's drawers yesterday to do a purge and see how much they had of what that actually was the right size. Then I had to go through all my totes of clothes I'm saving to try to get things to fit and reorganize the totes so the smallest size is actually on top rather than the bottom (making it easier to get to when I need it next, etc).

anyway, I started sorting from the biggest sizes down, so it took me a while to get to the newborn clothes. I was excitedly going through my girl stuff, and it of course made me really hope that Skittles is a girl. There are so many outfits I love.

and then I pulled out Cora's would-be coming home outfit.

I don't know why it surprised me. I mean, I knew it was there. I'd already come across Erin's and a couple other outfits I had bought for Cora when I was pregnant with her. But this one...it was like a kick in the gut, and I immediately burst into tears. Cora never wore it. We'd decided on cremation before I delivered her, so I never dressed her. And that hurt so much.

So then I went looking for the pictures of Erin in that outfit. I don't know, I just needed to see a baby in it I guess. She wore it several times.

Guess what? For some reason I do not have one picture of Erin in it. I don't know why, I have about a million pictures of her doing just about anything. But not one picture of her in that outfit.

It hurts.

Edited to add: I LIED! I found the pictures!! Erin wore it to her "meet the baby shower"

Okay, I feel better.

It's hard when something surprises you like that.

I'm so glad you found the pictures of Erin in it.

I hate surprises like that.

I still kick myself everyday for giving all of baby Johnny's clothes away.

I HATE when this happens!!! I can't bring myself to get rid of any of Makenzie's clothing, almost 14 years later still have every stitch. I am so glad you found a pic of Erin wearing it.
