After the ultrasound that confirmed her death, the doctor had the good sense to leave DH and me alone for a minute. I told him, "If it is a boy, his name is Lyle; if it is a girl, her name is Hope." Chuck's grandpa, Lyle, had just died two weeks before that. I honestly have no idea where the name Hope came from... it's not a name we had considered before, but we just knew it was perfect.

We wanted a happy name for our daughter to reflect the life she should have had. So Ceilidh was perfect. A Ceilidh is a gathering of family and friends with traditional Scottish music and dancing. A happy time. It's pronounced 'Kayley'

We found out Macy was a girl shortly before we lost her. I was sitting at the computer and asked DH if he liked the name Macy and spelled it for him. He immediately said yes, then I said, what about Macy Jordan? He loved it immediately and that was her name.
