My OB is recommending a year. I am not sure WHY he is recommending a year. I will be asking him Jan 4 at my appointment. I would like to start TTC as soon as possible, but I am afraid to. Not because of losing a baby but because I don't want anything happening to me. I don't know why I am afraid of that, but I did have DD and DS 15 months apart and now I want to TTC again! I just can't stand NOT having a baby to cuddle and feed. I don't just have baby fever, I have baby syndrome......

After I lost Alexis in June of 1998 I found out in December 1998 why I lost her and then got pregnant with Rayna in February 1999. So 8 months I waited. Since I lost Alexis I had 3 other children (Rayna 8, JB 5, and Madison 6 months) with help of my wonderful high risk doctor and shots of Fragmin (low does of heparin). I have Antiphospholipid Syndrome ( a blood clotting disorder).

We waited a year. My Dr. recommended 6 months to 1 year. We didn't get pregnant until a year and a half later. I truly feel that by not getting pg again until that time we had the time to grieve and come to terms with what had happened. It was still terribly hard to go through another pregnancy but I feel like it was much more manageable for us as our loss wasn't so new.

I only waited 2 cycles because my dr. told me to just wait for all of the tests to come back and I did. It has been 9 months now/7 months ttc and it still hasn't happened for me. Looking back now I am kind of glad that I have had time to grieve before becoming pregnant again, although my arms are still aching. I was only about 28 weeks though, but I heard of women getting pregnant 1-2 months after giving birth and having healthy babies. I think your dr. might be thinking more of your mental health when he says a year. I think I have heard 3-6 months to wait, on average. If you had c-section then they like you to wait a little longer.

Dr. told me to wait for 3 normal periods. I waited only 2 but got pg on the 4th cycle.

My Dr. told me I HAD to wait 3 months, preferably 6. We waited four, but didn't get pregnant until a month later, so there was 5 months between pregnancies.

I was not trying soon after we lost Noah, we just put it in God's hands and Noah and said, it's up to you when you think it's the time.... We wanted another baby so bad OMG did we, but we just left it up to them and they blessed us 4 1/2 months after Noah passed away. Go with your heart, God and your angel will lead the way
