I don't own a scale and its for a reason. When we had a scale I was pretty obsessive about weighing myself daily. I would get so hung up on the numbers rather than how my clothes are fitting and it just wasn't healthy. Now, I go to my work and weigh myself on the big dog scale once every week or two. I find it much more encouraging too...when I was weighing myself daily I would see little to no improvement day to day and would get discouraged. When I go 1-2 weeks between I almost always see at least a little bit of weight has dropped and that keeps me motivated.
