Right now I am taking Nature Made Multi Prenatal (no DHA). I am not allowed to take DHA due to being on blood thinners. My stomach is not tolerating my prenatal much anymore. It's hard to find some alternate options out there that don't have DHA and are easy on the stomach.
What is everyone taking? Does it have DHA? Would you recommend it for being "gentle" on the stomach?
I'm taking Adult Multivitamins + Minerals Chewables and a 400 mcg Folic Acid Supplement.
I can't swallow pills, unless they are very small, so I had to opt for chewable vitamins instead. I found a brand (Life) that has pretty much everything a prenatal has. I just supplement with a bit more folic acid. They have never made me nauseous or caused any constipation or anything. My doctor, midwife and pharmacist all said this was fine.
So you don't have to limit yourself to "prenatal" vitamins. Just spend some time at the drug store and compare prenatals to the different adult vitamins.
