I have taken 5 $ store tests and 3 FRER's. the 5 were the first tests we took. The lines were light. The next day I had my DH go to the store and get the FRER's. I took 2 of the 3. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. Both had dark lines. (I will add that I peed in a cup and dipped the tests). 2 days later I took the 3rd test and I just peed on the test. The line was significantly lighter. I became a little worried. I have a blood clotting disorder that they found after a mini stroke in 2006. It does increase my chance of miscarriage but I have never had one before and have had 4 healthy babies.

Now to my question.. Do you think it is just a fluke because I peed on the stick rather than dipping it? Or should I be concerned? My DH does not want to buy anymore tests and we both agree that God has a plan and this pregnancy is either meant to be or it isn't and testing again and again isn't going to change anything.

I would say with the cheapy on peeing on it instead of in to in a cup would make a difference. Your DH sounds like mine, he wont let me do any more now and says its all in Gods plan either way

Could be a fluke test... I don't think peeing or dipping makes a difference with frers.

It could also be that your urine at the time was just more diluted. I hope this was just a fluke for you.

I got a lighter line last night but my pee was nearly completely clear whereas it has been more concentrated for the other tests. Try not to worry about it just now but you could always test again. There are so many different factors that affect line colour.

Sunday was the first day I had a lighter line. Yesterday I took 2 and the lines were light still. I went to my primary care dr and they did a urine test that came back positive. This morning I took a test and there wasn't a line. I went to the store and bought a digital test and it says no. I am so confused. I feel crampy but I haven't bled or spotted. I have to wait for my referral to a OB GYN. What do you guys think?

i'm sorry =( It could be a chemical pregnancy. I had a few in the past year.

I would ask your primary care doctor for a blood test or ask them to repeat the urine pregnancy test today.

Sorry, I'm not in this DDc but saw this as a hot topic on homepage and had to say, this exactly happened to me a month ago. After a chemical a couple years ago I was told to take baby aspirin (and I did and now have a 1 year old dd). I didn't take baby aspirin with the chemical I had a month ago either. Guess I need it! I never used it with my previous children but apparently it gets worse with age. I'm sorry and good luck! Maybe use baby aspirin next time.

I am totally weirded out by this. I took 2 more tests after the digital said no and got light lines. I understand that it could just be the hcg leaving my system but its so weird. I haven't started bleeding and don't really know what to think. I guess only time will tell. Do you all know with it being this early I would still have to bleed and cramp, correct? I have never dealt with anything like this before (but like my mom pointed out I have also never tested after the initial day of positives either).

Digitals are not as sensitive as other brands it wont usually pick up an hcg lower than 25. Usually a FRER is the most sensitive brand (it picked up hcg of 8 with my son)
Usually with a chemical pregnancy your period shows up late..maybe a week or so. Some experience a slightly heavy period or they may have a normal period in terms of flow cramping ect.
Usually the test will get dark for a few days and then it starts to lighten up (if you are testing) and your period shows up a few days later.
