I found an awesome deal on a used crib, dresser and change table. It's a really dark, nice brown. I'm familiar with the set and it would normally cost well over $1000 but I could buy it from my neighbour for $300. But I'm dead set on dark brown for a boy and white for a girl. Anyone know if you can stain or paint the furniture? With non toxic paint of course. This it what it looks like, the crib: Etruria Shaker Fixed Side Convertible Crib - Ragazzi Fine Furniture (the darker model) Would it be hard to go from dark to light?

Yes you can, you'll have to sand/strip it first if you're going from dark to light.
