I like the Girlfriends Guides-- they're very funny. There was one that I can't think of right now that was absolutely hilarious-- very sarcastic and funny, I'm pretty sure I read it when I was expecting my first-- a quick google search reveals it was called "Pregnancy Sucks: What to Do When Your Miracle Makes You Miserable! It was VERY funny.. Other than that, I just googled.
Wife to Ray, mama to Colin (4), Brock (2) & expecting our baby GIRL 10.20.2014
My favorite pregnancy book is Pregnancy Day by Day. Of course you can get most, if not all of the info online but I'm old fashioned and prefer books This one is great because it explains what is happening everyday and has a daily countdown. It also talks about L&D, after the baby is born, complications etc. It's very comprehensive.
We also have The Attachment Parenting Book by Dr. Sears. I haven't picked it up in a while but I really liked that it validated my maternal instincts early on with DD. Plan on reading it again closer to when this baby gets here.
I agree, Ina May Gaskin book guide to childbirth. I think a lot of women to through this knowing what to expect from the hospital and the doctors, but not really knowing how to trust their body and all that. Takes a lot of the nervousness out of having a baby when you feel comfortable with what's happening in your body.
I loved Penny Simkin's The Baby Catcher! LOVED!! Also, Childbirth Without Fear by Michel Odent and Grantly Dick-Reed, anything by Marsden Wagner, Ina May, Laura Shanley, pleasurable Childbirth, ohhhh so many!!
