Yesterday I felt a little comfortable after peeing and the second time I peed I had blood in my urine. Needless to say I freaked out a little. I called the answering service for my MD office and she called in a prescription for an antibiotic. I've had UTIs in the past, but never when pregnant, this one really hit me all of a sudden. Make sure all of you are drinking a lot of water and peeing on a regular schedule (I've always been bad about holding it).
Anyway, today we went for our NT scan. It was great and I'm so glad I did it. Baby was sleeping when we first started, but we could see her heart fluttering like crazy so that was awesome. The US tech jabbed her a few times and she woke up, after that she was moving nonstop and the tech had a really hard time taking measurements, we were there for 45 minutes because baby was squirming everywhere, lol! She took a few measurements and then had the MD come in and tell us we had less than 1% chance of Down's and everything looked great. He said it was up to us if we want to do the CVS testing or amino, but I'm fine. The major reason I did the NT scan was because I didn't want to wait until 20 weeks to see our baby again!
Before they left we asked the MD and the tech if they could venture a guess as to the baby's sex. The MD said almost right away he thought it was a girl!! He said it's still early and to not hold him to it, but be seemed pretty confident; the tech agreed with him that she thinks it's a girl. I was so sure it was a boy, lol! That said I'm not going to be confident until 20 weeks regarding the sex.
Here's a pic of our little one. I can't believe what a change there has been between now and our 8 week ultrasound!
