I had my 3rd OB appt yesterday. Since I am high risk and need to be monitored more because of my clotting disorder, I thought yesterday was supposed to include an ultrasound. Nope. All she did was feel my stomach and use a doppler. But that isn't even the worst of it. She had the wrong due date in my chart, couldn't remember that she already discussed my abnormal pap 4 weeks ago, and just didn't even bother reading my chart before she came into the room.

This is on top of posting that I have HPV high risk and an abnormal pap online without so much as a comment or a phone call to explain. Finding out I have the HPV virus that is high risk for developing cancer without any guidance is SCARY! She claimed she must have been tired and posted it by accident. And this is the doctor I am supposed to trust to handle reversing my blood thinners and managing a safe birth!?!

I've had enough. I don't think she has even called my hematologist back since he called to talk over a safe pregnancy and birth plan with her....5 weeks ago.

So I called a new doctor in the same building. Right off the bat they asked who my hematologist is so that they make sure my pregnancy is coordinated with him. I don't even have an appointment yet and they already make me feel safe!

I know there are a lot of stories out there about rude doctors, but having an incompetent one doesn't feel nice either. I sure hope the perinatologist next week makes me feel a little more comfortable. I just feel like if I stay with my OB, something bad will happen to me and/or my baby.

Sounds like a competent choice to switch OB's. Having one you don't like is one thing, having one that could potentially risk the life of you and your baby is another!

Glad you switched!

Glad you're switching, sounds like a good decision! Sorry you didn't get an u/s...you would think being high risk they would be performing them routinely...at least they do that here.

I am so sorry this really stinks. I am sure it is a blessing in disguise though and you will find much better care for you and baby! Hang in there. <3

Goodness that doesn't sound good. Glad you found out that out early! Good luck... Hopefully the new doc will be on top of everything.

Yeah that just sounds terrible! At least you know now so you can switch while you are still early, right? Hopefully you can find someone much, much better.
