So I had my appointment yesterday with the new midwife. It was a long appointment and I really liked the midwife, they did an interview with me to get to know me and I felt really more comfortable with them. They don't do ultrasound in their office so they requested one for me next week at a clinic, but she used the Doppler and wasn't able to pick up a heart beat. She said not to worry because she was picking up traces of it but my niece was with me and she was crying so it was probably hard to hear anyway. Now I have to wait until they call to schedule my ultrasound and in the mean time try not to freak out because even though she said not to be concerned I am worrying lol. So it went fairly well, but I'm counting down until I see the ultrasound and know everything is okay.

Glad your appointment went well. Really I don't think you have anything to worry about! You could always be really naughty and purchase a doppler and then return it

Glad your appt went well! And I wouldn't worry, I have a doppler and can't find baby STILL and I am 13+4... I am not an expert but I just attribute it to a small hiding baby and impatience.

I'm glad you like this midwife, that's always so nice. I'm sorry you are worried, and I hope all is well and you get your U/S soon.
I went in Friday at 13.6 for a doc appt for my back but they checked the babies heart rate and they had a hard time finding it. The doc actually had to get someone else to find it. So just try not to worry too much, it can be hard at this stage still..

I have a home doppler and once in a while have a hard time finding it. I think at this stage it can have a lot to do with how baby is positioned. I've read that it can sometimes be hard to find before 20 weeks. I'm sure it's a good sign that the midwife was able to partially hear it. Also, if you have a titled uterus it can make it difficult to find. Try not to worry

Thanks guys! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Maybe I have an anterior placenta and it makes it harder to hear the baby. I think I really only got freaked out because I googled and read this horror story of a woman who lost her baby at 13 weeks and knew because she couldn't find the baby's heartbeat with her doppler. Probably like a 1 in 5000 chance of that or something, so I need to stop worrying myself for no reason I trust the midwife too so if she's not concerned I shouldn't be. I'm really excited to get another U/S, and then have my elective one on the 23rd too!
