I had to schedule my elective u/s for a week from today. I will only be 15 +1. He was full in the evenings (we want to bring the kiddos) everyday until Dec. 5th and I am too antsy to wait that long.

Has anyone found out via u/s this early? He assured me anything 15 weeks + they can tell as long as they get a good angle. We get to go back for free if not, but it is a good 45min-hour drive. Am I wasting my time? I'm cautiously excited.

I've known people who have found out that early and it was correct. I've never found out that early. Good luck!

Not to be nosy, but can I ask ballpark what does the elective US cost?

Exciting! I would totally try to do it earlier if they let me.

We are doing an elective at about 17 weeks and it is going to cost $50. It is kind of that u/s place's claim to fame so it is cheeeap. We can add on stuff like extra pics, a dvd, a teddy bear with a recording of the heartbeat at extra costs. My referral appointments there are $165.

I'm in Indy. The cheapest package was 69.00, it includes 15 minutes of viewing time,(the kids will probably be bored after 5!) 4 pics and 2D and 3D. You can add stuff on but I doubt we do.

With my last 2, we went to Build-a-Bear and bought one of those recorder things you can put in the bear's hand. We recorded the heartbeat at the doctor's office and then took the kids back with us to make the baby a bear. They brought it to the hospital. It was cute.

I think you should be fine at 15 weeks. With these 4d places, this is what they do all day, everyday. For the place I am going, I have gone through the last 3 years of reviews and not a single person has said that their gender ultrasound was wrong! And they start gender scans at 14 weeks.

Oh that's not bad at all! Is it at a specific place? Or through a hospital?

My sister found out at 14 weeks with her daughter. I waited for my anatomy scan last time but this time I am going at 15+5 and like you I hope they can tell because it's an hour and a half away. Mine is $75, only 2D and 10 minutes of viewing. It's the only place that does them around here and even then "around here" is 75 miles north lol.
